2023 Masaza Cup: Ronald Ssali joins Buwekula technical staff

The management team of Buwekula has on Tuesday afternoon unveiled the technical staff for the 2023 Masaza Cup.

Frank Mulindwa has been retained as head coach for a third consecutive time like this website earlier reported.

Ronald Ssali who guided Bulemeezi Ssaza team to the Semifinal has been appointed technical director at Buwekula.

Mulindwa will be assisted by Frank Kitindidde, Leo Ssekamatte while Ben Kalama has replaced Hamzah Muwonge as the goalkeeping coach.

Team Manager, Joseph Kyambadde is confident the named technical staff has all the potential to clinch this year’s championship

“We have decided to retain Mulindwa Frank as our head coach for a third season. He led us to the 2021 final and this year we want to win the trophy. We are well prepared and ready to challenge this campaign. Our target is to win the competition this year.”

Said Kyambadde.

Mulindwa hailed Buwekula management for entrusting him for a third consecutive time

“I am humbled to work again with Buwekula, the major focus is to build a formidable team that will challenge and win the competition this year.” Said Mulindwa.

Ssali promised Buwekula faithfuls attractive football

“I thank Buwekula management team for the opportunity to work with them. We are hopeful that we shall do a great job at Buwekula. I urge the fans to give us support and together we shall manage to achieve our goal. I promise them an attractive brand of football just like Barcelona the team I support outside Uganda.”

Meanwhile, Buwekula will this year host their home games at St.Peter Technical, previously they hosted at Kasenyi grounds.

Buwekula are pitted in  Masengere Group alongside Buddu, Kyaggwe, Buluuli, Kyadondo and Kooki. They will face off with Kyadondo on 2nd July at Mwererwe for their opening group game before hosting Buddu on 9th July at St.Peters Technical located in Mubende town.

Busiro will take on Mawokota in the opening game of the 19 edition of the Masaza Cup tournament at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on 24th June, 2023.
