Nebbi Central remain bottom of the Elgon group table and have five games to save their status having garnered only 10 points from the 15 games played.

The result was a crucial win for Amuka Bright Stars who came into this encounter third from bottom with only four points separating them from their opponents.

Despite having control of the first half, Nebbi Central found themselves trailing to the home side courtesy of an Emmanuel Okwir penalty kick at the stroke of half time.

Nigerian import Innocent Maduka “Oga” doubled Amuka’s lead in the 70th minute.

Osman Miraj Killa pulled one back for the Uganda Cup quarter-finalists with a well converted penalty kick in the closing stages of the encounter.

Victory sprung Amuka out of the red zone to sit seventh on 17 points from 15 games played.

Nebbi will have to negotiate their remaining fixtures starting from their visit at Kataka FC on Thursday 21st March in another relegation six-pointer.

Amuka will play against Entebbe FC on the same day at the UTC grounds in Lira.
