BIG LEAGUE : Katwe United start survival mission with 4-1 thumping of Kataka

Katwe United thumped Kataka FC 4-1 in an opener of the second half of the season at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.

Allan Tebusweke bagged a brace while January transfer window recruits Solomon Wafula and Habib Kavuma scored the other goals to register Katwe United’s second win of the season.

Wafula opened the scoreline in the 20th minute before Kavuma doubled the lead from the penalty mark moments into the second half.

Tebusweke scored his first in the 53rd minute from a Billy Nkata ball.

He then made it 4-0 at the hour mark.

Francisco Odando pulled one back for the Kataka FC side.

The win was Allan Kabonge’s first as Katwe United head coach since taking over last October.

It was a much needed win that elevates Katwe United from the bottom with eight points leapfrogging Light SS.

Katwe United will visit Light SS in Soroti while Kataka FC will host Dove All Stars in Mbale next Sunday.

MYDA defeated Bukedea Town Council 4-0 in the other game played on Thursday. Striker Ibra Nsimbe scored a hat trick while Norman Ogik scored the other.

Action in the Big League resumes on Saturday 22nd at Luzira where Water FC will host New Villa in a game which was postponed from Friday 21st.
