Busoga United confirm new signings ahead of 2023/24 season

UPL side Busoga United have confirmed ten new signings ahead of their league opener with Arua Hill SC in Adjumani on Sunday 17th September 2:00pm.

The new signings include experienced goalkeeper Salim Wekiya, he is a former player at Masavu FC (now Entebbe FC), he played for Big League side Jinja North United last season.

Others are Emmanuel Ajjo, Sharif Ziraba, Musa Kasimba, Allan Ghalandi,defender Stephen Odong, Edrine Cavani Mawerere, Simon Ngore and midfielder Hamdan Nsubuga who have been awarded contracts of two years each.

Forward Ajjo joins from Kakira Cherries, a side he helped earn Regional League promotion last season.

Nsubuga and Odong join from Onduparaka FC and Samity FC respectively l.

Head coach Vincent Lukyamuzi has confidence in the new signings despite playing away from home,

“I has not been so easy for us replacing the nine players that left club at the end of last season but we believe and trust the new signings to do the job”.

“We promise to be improving on every game the players signed are young and ready to deliver it is not an easy game starting away from home but we promise to fight for some good results.”

The Eastern side will have Isaac Isinde as the captain and will be assisted by Isaac Doca Mweru as his first and second assistants respectively.

Last season Busoga finished in the 12th with 28 points
