Uganda has been drawn alongside Ivory Coast, Zambia and Namibia in Group B of the 2018 CHAN tournament to be held early next in Morocco. The draws of the the fifth edition have been held in Rabat.

The games will be hosted within four cities. These are; Casablanca, Marakech, Tanger and Agadir. The hosts Morocco will kick start the tournament against Mauritania on 13th January in Casablanca.
Uganda will kick off the tournament with Zambia on 14th January before taking on Namibia four days later and close the group stages phrase with a tie against Ivory Coast on 22nd January.
This will be the fourth time the cranes are taking part of this tournament organized for locally based players every after two years.
In the previous edition, Zambia was also drawn with Uganda and the Chipolopolo went on to edge the Cranes 1-0 courtesy of a Christopher Katongo goal.
DR Congo are the current holders after winning the championship early last year in Rwanda but will not take part after failing to qualify for the final tournament.
