Express FC will be seeking to keep tabs on the table leaders when they take on Mbarara City at Wankulukuku.

The Red Eagles are 7th on the table with 12 points, 11 behind table leaders KCCA and a win against Mbarara City can elevate them to as high as the 4th place.

Express welcome back defender Murushid Juuko and striker George Senkaaba from illness that sidelined them from the trip to Arua.

Martin Kizza remains out with a hamstring while Abel Eturude is nursing a quadricep injury.

Left back Arthur Kiggundu is ruled out by fever while Enock Ssebagala starts his suspension after being sent off in the game against Onduparaka.

Mbarara City will be without Solomon Okwalinga who sustained a head injury in the game against Villa.

Midfielder Edwok Ronald returns to the fold after missing the game against Villa due to injury.

Head to Head

This will be the 9th time both sides are facing off. The previous eight have seen Mbarara City win three times while Express have only managed to get two wins. The other three games have been draws.

Last season, the two sides played out two 1-1 draws at Kakyeka and Wankulukuku.

Wasswa Bbosa says his team is focused at winning all three points against a very stubborn side.

“We are well prepared ahead of tomorrow’s game as we host Mbarara City FC. I believe the Ankole Lions are one of the stubborn teams because even last season we shared points home and away but our focus is to win the game and reduce the gap on the table leaders, we’ve also tried to work on converting our chances and hopefully we earn maximum points”.

Bbosa said via the club’s website.

Eric Kambale, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Charles Musiige and Senkaaba will be the players Bbosa will heavily rely on in search for victory.

Mbarara City who are coached by Hussein Mbalangu will be looking up to Jude Semugabi, Henry Kitegenyi and his defense department for a spirited fight against the defending champions.
