SC Villa’s woes are not about to end sooner as captain Meddie Kibirige has been ruled out of tomorrow’s encounter against URA.

Kibirige will however not be rested and will be compelled to sit on the bench since the presumed 3rd choice Yiga Joseph is yet to acquire his licence.

Martin Senkooto is expected to start his first match of the season and he will be expected to showcase the good antics exhibited when he was handed an opportunity towards the end of last term.

The other absentees are key central midfielders Ronald Sekiganda and Ali Bayo. The later injured his knee during the preparations for the Mbarara trip, whereas the former was injured in Villa’s 2-1 defeat to BUL FC

Some positive news however for Petros Koukouras is the return of young striker Oscar Mawa who has served his suspension for the red card acquired in the BUL match.

The Jogoos are fresh from an uninspiring loss to Mbarara city and will be tasked to bounce back against a URA side they haven’t beaten since February 2018.

The tax collectors were among the initial bookies favourites for the championship but they are blowing hot and cold this term.

A very impressive 2-0 win over Vipers SC was followed by a disappointing 0-0 stalemate against struggling Police FC. The peacekeepers sit at the bottom of the log and they are the only side yet to win a game of football.

Head to head

The two sides have met 22 times previously but a whopping 10 times have ended in draws.

Villa have won 4 times against URA’s 8. Tomorrow’s hosts have not beaten URA in the last 5 meetings.

Striker Steven Mukwala and Rwothomio Cromwell are expected to have a field day against Villa’s inexperienced defense.

First choice goal keeper Nafian Arionzi and defender Patrick Mbowa have not travelled with the URA squad to Njeru.
