Former Ajax Queens duo joins Kampala Queens

FUFA Women Super League leaders Kampala Queens have officially announced the signing of defenders Joanita Nassali and Patricia Akiror.

The two players have joined the Hamza Lutalo coached side from Ajax Queens FC.

Nassali is expected to bolster Kampala Queens’ central defense that also has her former Ajax Queens teammate Lukiya Namubiru.

Namubiru has been primarily featuring as a striker before she was turned into a defender at the start of this campaign.

Akiror is a left back that is expected to jostle for a place in the starting team with Dorcus Nabuufu who has been the only left back in the squad.

Akiror previously played for Olila High School in the league and Masaka SS before she joined Ajax Queens.

She is also a former national U17 player having played a part in Ayub Khalifa’s team that won the COSAFA U17 team in Mauritius in 2019.

Kampala Queens will also add Crested Cranes midfielder Shakira Mutiibwa from Asubo Gafford Ladies to their squad.

They are currently top of the table with 26 points, level with She Corporate but with a superior goal difference.
