It was yet another busy week for Ugandan players in their respective leagues as action resumed across the globe.

Nicholas Wadada and Azam FC maintained their winning run in the Tanzanian league with a hard-drilled win over Prisons, Farouk Miya and his Konyaspor side put Besiktas to the sword claiming a comprehensive 4-1 victory while Ritah Kivumbi was on target in Sweden.

VIETNAM

Joseph Mpande captained Hai Phong in their 1-0 defeat to SHB Da Nang as the Vietnamese V.League resumed from a two month break.

Moses Oloya played as a defensive midfielder for Ha Noi FC in their 2-2 draw with Quang Nam.

Godfrey Baba Kizito played right back as Than Quang Ninh drew 2-2 with Becamex Binh Duong on Saturday.

ENGLAND

Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru wasn’t part of the Wycombe Wanderers squad that lost 2-0 to Swansea City in the English Championship on Saturday.

Youngster Jayden Onen came off the bench in the 46th minute for Jordan Adebayo-Smith as his new side Reading U-23 beat Aston Villa U-23 in the development league on Friday. Onen was making his third appearance since leaving Brentford B and got booked in the 59th minute.

Right back Elvis Bwomono Okello played full-time as Southend United lost 2-1 to Morecambe FC in the English League 2 on Saturday.

TURKEY

Farouk Miya came off the bench and won a penalty as Konyaspor Kulubu defeated Besiktas 4-1 in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday evening.

Miya was brought down by Croatian defender Domagoj Vida in the box in the 82nd minute.

He had replaced an injured Deni Milosevic in the 67th minute and also got booked in the added four minutes due to foul play.

GERMANY

Right back Herbert Bockhorn wasn’t part of the Vfl Bochum team that won 1-0 at Karsruher in the German Bundesliga 2 on Saturday.

FRANCE

Goalkeeper James Aheebwa didn’t feature for Vaulx-en-Velin who lost 2-1 to Limonest FC in the French fifth tier on Saturday.

Isaac Muleme was an unused substitute as FK Viktoria Zizkov won 2-1 to FK Blansko in the Czech Republic second tier on Sunday.

Moses Opondo played 64 minutes before he was replaced by Max Fenger as OB Odense lost 4-2 to AGF Aarhus in the Danish Superligaen on Sunday.

TANZANIA

Nicholas Wadada played the full 90 minutes as Azam FC maintained their 100% record with a 1-0 away win over Tanzania Prisons in the Tanzania Vodacom Premier League on Saturday.

Azam have won all their four games of the virgin season without conceding a single goal.

Boban Zirintusa was substituted off in the 34th minute for Juma Nyangi as Mtibwa Sugar fell 1-0 to Yanga Africans on Sunday.

Kagera Sugar won 1-0 but Ugandan midfielder Jackson Kibirige wasn’t part of the winning team.

Ugandan trio of Cleo James Ssetuba, Joseph Zziwa and Ambrose Awio didn’t feature for Biashara Mara United who drew 0-0 with Ruvu Shooting.

BURUNDI

Defender Joseph Othieno didn’t feature for Musongati FC in their 1-1 draw with Les Elephants in the Burundi Primus League on Sunday.

Allan Kizza and Stephen Mugisha also didn’t feature for Le Messager Ngozi in their 1-1 draw with Rukinzo FC on Saturday.

PORTUGAL

Left-back Alex Kakuba played full-time as CD Cova da Piadade lost 1-0 to GD Chaves in the Portuguese Segunda (Second tier) on Sunday.

USA

Midfielder Mike Azira was an unused substitute as Chichago Fire overcame Atlanta United 2-0 in the Major League Soccer on Sunday night.

Defender Bevis Mugabi conceded a penalty as Motherwell FC fell 5-1 to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers FC in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

SUDAN

Goalkeeper Jamal Salim Magoola is expected to return to action as Al Hilal Omdurman visit Al Hilal Kadougli on Monday night in the Sudan Premier League.

Defender Ronald Ddungu Mukiibi didn’t take part in Ostersunds FK’s 1-0 away win over Helsingborgs in the Swedish top-flight league on Saturday. Isak Ssewankambo, a Ugandan born midfielder played the entire 90 minutes for the winning side.

Striker Alexis Bbakka played 88 minutes before he was withdrawn for Eric Lundstrom as Umea FC lost 3-0 to AFC Eskilstuna in the Swedish second tier (Superettan) on Saturday. Bbakka was also booked in the 19th minute.

DR CONGO

Joseph Ochaya played 45 minute before he was replaced by Arsene Zola as TP Mazembe drew 0-0 with Yellow Star in a friendly game.
