Mandela thanks teammate Mudekereza for saving his life

Vipers SC right back Ashraf Mandela has been discharged from Namulundu hospital where he was rushed after suffering a concussion on Tuesday.

Mandela landed badly after a duel challenge from Arua Hill forward Rashid Kawawa during a Uganda Premier league game at Kitende.

Vipers SC have released a statement concerning the player’s current situation. In the same statement Mandela hailed teammate Alfred Mudekereza for saving his life.

“Thank you all for the kind wishes and prayers from over the past several hours. Obviously last evening was an extremely scary moment for me and I’m still in a little bit of shock.”

“I would like to thank my teammate Alfred Mudekereza for the quick and fast response to save my life, along with all doctors and paramedics from LifeLink hospital, Vipers SC Doctor and Arua Hill SC Doctor who rushed to help treat and stabilize me when l suffered a concussion.”

“Without all of you, l know things would’ve been much worse and I’m sincerely grateful. I won’t be back next game, but l will be back and l look forward to being back on the pitch playing the game l love alongside my teammates infront of our great fans.” Mandela as quoted by the club website

Meanwhile, Vipers will return to action on Friday when they will host UPDF FC at Kitende.
