Video: Protesting Busoga United fans halt match against Express at Kakindu

Allan Kayiwa scored a free kick in the 87th minute to give Express FC the lead against Busoga United on Wednesday at Kakindu Stadium.

In additional time, the game was halted after unruly Busoga fans pelted stones onto the pitch.

Players, officials and journalists ran for survival in the middle of pitch.

The crowd violence forced police to fire teargas to calm down the situation.

The fans were protesting against poor officiation which they believe cost them.

FUFA is expected to give it’s verdict on the incident that happened at Kakindu Stadium.

The hooliganism at Kakindu comes just days after SC Villa fans also pelted stones in their 2-1 defeat to Wakiso Giants.

Meanwhile, the Red Eagles will next face Bright Stars on November, 22nd at Muteesa II Stadium while Busoga United face off with BUL FC on the same day in the Jinja Derby at Njeru.
