MATCH PREVIEW: SC Villa host Gaddafi at Wankulukuku

SC Villa tactician Jackson Magera will start his reign as head coach when they host Gaddafi FC.

Magera was elevated to the big role after serving as Petros Koukouras’ assistant last term, he was joined by former Villa coach Ibrahim Kirya as his assistant.

His opposite number Wasswa Bbosa is also a new man in charge of Gaddafi but he is not new to Wankulukuku, where he achieved immense success as league and CECAFA cup winner.

The early kick off match is a duel for two teams that have made almost whole sale changes to their squads with Villa only managing to retain 10 members of their last season’s group.

Gaddafi not only changed their coaching department and playing staff, but also their brand name was changed to Gaddafi Modern FC. The altercation in name has however not been approved by FUFA yet.

HEAD TO HEAD

Thy have faced off two times in history and each side won the match hosted last term.

Villa won 1-0 at Njeru, whereas Gaddafi beat them 2-0 at the Gaddafi Arena.

KEY MEN TO WATCH

Villa managed to keep youngster Travis Mutyaba and experienced goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige, the latter may not be available for selection though.

Central midfielder Ivan Serubiri who signed from URA FC will also be an important addition for the Jogoos

Fast paced winger Godfrey Lwesibawa who joined from Express FC will be key for Gaddafi and Cranes attacker Richard Basagwa is expected to have come of age to deliver at the big stage.

Wasswa Bbosa’s tactical and motivational acumen will also be imperative for the Jinja based side.
