Express FC will be aiming for a fifth consecutive win as they host UPDF FC at Wankulukuku.

The Red Eagles have won all their last four games in the league and are fresh from a 3-2 win over Kyetume in the mid-week. They have recorded victories against Vipers, Police and Onduparaka.

UPDF on the other hand are winless in the past three games having lost 5-1 to Wakiso Giants and drew against Busoga United and MYDA.

The Army side will be without head coach Kefa Kisala who was suspended by the club for two games following their crushing defeat to Wakiso Giants.

Kisala’s men handed Express their first defeat of the season in the first round thanks to Alex Kitatta’s goal in the 24th minute at Bombo.

Vengeance will be top of Express’ agenda but any kind of victory will keep them in the title contention. The Red Eagles are third with 49 points, one behind second placed Vipers and two behind leaders URA

Midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba is expected to return to fold after missing the trip to Kyetume due to sickness.

Left back Arthur Kigundu is available for selection after being out for over two months. Abel Eturude will be subjected to a late fitness while George Ssenkaaba is still out.

The Army men will be without Simon Mbazira, Dickens Okwir, Ibrahim Wammanah and goalkeeper Douglas Kisembo while Seif Batte is a doubt.

The last time Express hosted UPDF was in their disastrous 2017-18 season and won the encounter 2-0 courtesy of first half goals from Mike Birungi and Jalil Zimula.

Express head coach Wasswa Bbosa says his men have no room for any slip ups and will be targeting for nothing but victory to keep the title dreams alive.

“We are facing a side which started the league well and topped the league for sometime and beat us in the first round despite dropping a little now but as a new team in the league so their target may be to stay in the league so they don’t have a lot of pressure now as we have because there is no room for error for us.” Bbosa said in the pre match press conference

” We have seven games remaining and those are seven finals. We shall try to win every game.”

Bbosa’s competitors URA and Vipers will be facing Police and SC Villa at Ndejje and Bombo respectively.

Eric Kambale is in scintillating form and has so far scored 11 goals having struck a hat trick at Kyetume. The Congolese turned Ugandan will be expected to be Bbosa’s many source of hope against the Army side.
