Former KCCA FC striker Derrick Nsibambi will see his fine form earn him another Cranes call up.

On the hand, Isreal based trio of Luwagga Kizito, Timothy Awany and Fahad Bayo will miss out.

American based Micheal Azira is also expected to miss out on the squad.

“Some players are likely to miss out on our camp in Dubai, those in Israel and America to be exact. This is because of the travel restrictions in those countries”, said FUFA president Eng Moses Hashim Magogo while appearing on Super FM last Sunday.

Magogo only confirmed Head coach words.

“We are likely to miss four of the players that we have had in our previous squad due to travel restrictions in their countries but we must have stringent plans to address that”. The Northern Irish told FUFA TV in an earlier interview.

The 2022 Cameroon Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers will be back in November with a double header on card against Southern Sudan for the Cranes.

The week beginning Sunday, 4th, September, 2020 will be used for Camp in Dubai by the Cranes.

While appearing on an exclusive interview with FUFA TV, National Team head-coach Johnathan McKinstry pointed that foreign based players will only earn a call up basing on their current form drawing examples on Derrick Nsibambi.

“Invitation to the National Team is not automatic, it depends on where you are and how you are performing. Look at a player like Derrick Nsibambi, he was struggling in January, not settled in the team but in the last couple of weeks he has been starting and scoring goals so you expect that to earn him an invitation”, he said.

Nsibambi has in the recent past improved his performance with 3 goals and 5 assists to his name for his side in the Egyptian League.

Uganda currently lead group B with 4 points having won 2- 0 against Malawi and drawn 0-0 against Burkina Faso before the games were put on halt in March.

The other Group B opponents are Uganda’s neighbors in the North, South Sudan.
