Rogers Mato joins Turkish side

Ugandan forward Rogers Mato has joined Turkish second division Şanlıurfa Spor Kulübü from Uganda Premier league side KCCA FC.

Mato was officially unveiled by the Turkish side on Friday. He also had training sessions with the club on Thursday.

Last season, Mato won several games for the 13 time Uganda Premier league champions in a campaign many stars at the club didn’t shine consistently.

He also scored the all important goal as Uganda Cranes beat Tanzania during a Group F of the AFCON 2023 qualifying game in Dar E Salaam.

He joined the Kasasiro boys at the start of the 2021/22 season from Proline FC.

Mato is a product of FUFA Juniors League and featured for clubs like Lweza FC Junior Team, Maroons FC Junior Team and Proline FC Junior Team.

His new club is located in Şanlıurfa. The football team currently plays in the TFF Second and host their home games at 28,965 capacity Şanlıurfa GAP Stadium.
