Horoya AC will live to forget their trip to Dar es Salaam after suffering a 7-0 drubbing courtesy of Simba SC in what proved to be a decider of which team wins the second slot in Group C of the CAF Champions League.

Simba came into the encounter with their work well cut out as any victory against their direct rivals would see them through to the lucrative quarter finals.

Zambian midfielder initiated the rout with a hat trick while Congolese striker Jean Baleke Othos and Malian midfielder Sadio Kanoute grabbed a brace each.

Chama opened the scores with a free kick in the 10th minute before Baleke doubled the lead at the half hour mark.

Chama ensured a 3-0 lead at half time with a penalty before sealing his historic hat trick in the second half.

Baleke added the other with a routine finish whereas Kanoute put the icing of the cake with two ferocious shots from outside the area.

The victory took Simba to nine points and ultimately gave them their fourth CAF Inter-club quarter final in the last six years.

The Robertinho coached side will be seeking to reach the same final for the first ever having failed to do so on two previous occasions in 2019 and 2021.
