UPL and CECAFA Kagame Cup champions Express FC have completed the signing of striker Raymond Walugembe from Kyetume FC, Swift Sports can reliably confirm.

Walugembe put pen to paper on a two year contract after leaving Kyetume last week.

The lanky striker has been signed to boost Wasswa Bbosa’s striking department that only had Eric Kambale and George Ssenkaaba as the only strikers available.

He comes in as a direct replacement of Frank Kalanda who left the club in July after his employment contract expired.

Walugembe ought to have caught the watchful eye of Bbosa when Kyetume drew 2-2 with Express in the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32.

The lanky striker scored one of Kyetume’s goals in the 54th minute.

Before joining Kyetume at the start of last season, Walugembe was playing for Buwambo United in the Buganda Regional League, a side he guided to the promotion playoffs played at Njeru last year.

He has also previously played for Buddu, Kkooki and Buwekula in the Masaza Cup as well as YMCA Comprehensive Institute in the University Football League.

Mutundwe based Super Cubs Soccer Academy is another side he has previously played for.

Express FC signed goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa, Nicholas Kasozi on loan from Kyetume, Soltilo Bright Stars winger Joseph Akandwanaho and free agent Dues Bukenya in this transfer window.
