Kenyan giants Gor Mahia are interested in signing Ugandan forward Ben Ocen as they intensify preparations for the 2020/21 Kenya Premier League season.

According to The Tugukyangira Bunayira Show which airs on 102.1 FUFA FM, Ocen is a transfer target for the K’Ogalo.

Ocen’s scintillating exploits inspired Police FC to premier league safety last season and was subsequently linked to Young Africans but a move to Tanzania didn’t materialize.

He was the Uganda Premier League joint second top scorer with 12 goals tied with Vipers’ Fahad Bayo.

The Police FC forward who can play as a striker and a winger was part of the Uganda Cranes team that won the 2019 CECAFA Championship held in December at Lugogo.

He could be the second Ugandan forward to join the Kenyan champions after Tito Okello who signed a two year contract last month. Okello has since then received a summon on the South Sudan national team.

Gor Mahia have embarked on a rebuilding process and have so far signed 13 players who include Burundian forward Jules Ulimwengu, Cameroonian midfielder Bertrand Konfor and Malawian playmaker Andrew Malisero Numero.

Kelvin Wesonga Mutsosi, John Ochieng, Benson Omalla, Sydney Ochieng, Andrew Juma, John Macharia and goalkeepers Levis Opiyo and Samuel Njau.

Gor Mahia will represent Kenya in the 2020/21 CAF Champions League after winning the KPL title for the 19th time when the season was prematurely ended.
