Uganda national team has moved four places from the initial 83rd position in the FIFA rankings released on Thursday 24th October.

The improvement sees Uganda sit 79th with 1305.86 points from the initial 1291 points of last month.

This is attributed to the positive results from the AFCON Qualifiers double header against Lesotho on 13th and 16th October.

Uganda remains the highest ranked nation in the CECAFA region with Kenya coming second in the 105th place. Tanzania is now 136th, Rwanda 138th while Burundi moved 6 places to sit 142nd.

Cape Verde declined a place to the 68th while Lesotho is now 149th.

Tunisia, 22nd remains the highest ranked African nation in the global rankings while Senegal comes next in the 25th place.

Uganda top Group L of the 2019 AFCON Qualifiers with 10 points, a point away from qualification.

The Cranes will return to action on November 17th against Cape Verde at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
