URA FC unveil Walusimbi as 10th signing

URA FC have completed the signing of former Express FC defender Enock Walusimbi.

Walusimbi joins the tax collectors as a free agent on a two year employment contract.

The former Express FC skipper was released by his club FC Peterhead at the end of the season.

Peterhead were relegated from the Scottish league One and they will play in league two next season after finishing 10th out of 10 clubs.

He had joined them last September after impressing them in trials.

Walusimbi came close to joining double Champions Vipers SC but the move fell through at the eleventh hour.

He has also previously featured for Shafranto FC (2011-2013), Nansana United (2013-2015), Bright Stars from where he transferred to Express FC.

During the 2020/21 season, Walusimbi captained Express to their seventh league title and the CECAFA club championship in 2021.

He was also instrumental for Buganda Province as they won the inaugural FUFA Drum tournament in 2018.

Walusimbi becomes the tax collectors’ 10th signing this window after Kisiriko Denis Luzige, Kisolo John Innocent, Amis Bwangani, Godfrey Sekibengo, Aliro Moses Okabo, Ibrahim Wammanah, Denis Otim, Norman Namanya and Rogers Omedwa.

The club also confirmed eleven departures who are George Senkaaba (released) Paul Patrick Mbowa (contract expiry) Patrick Matovu (released) Benjamin Nyakoojo (released) Yusuf Wasswa (released) Hannington Ssebwalunyo (contract expiry) Kabon Living (contract expiry) Kokas Alou (released), Micheal Lubowa (released), Salim Abdallah (released) and Ronald Dickson Kigongo.

URA FC will play Arua Hill in the FUFA Super 8 Pre-season tournament Quarterfinal earlier next month.
