• Mbarara City 1-2 Vipers SC
Vipers SC powered past Mbarara City 2-1 on Friday at the Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.
Vipers had last won at Kakyeka during the 2017/18 season and came into this game winless in the previous six meetings with the Ankole Lions.
Goals from Bobosi Byaruhanga and Ibrahim Orit secured maximum points for the Kitende based in Mbarara.
Swalik Bebe Ssegujja found a consolation for the home side who suffered a third straight defeat after defeats to BUL FC and UPDF FC. In fact this was their first defeat at home this term having managed wins against Bright Stars and Arua Hill.
Bobosi fired the visitors into an early lead after connecting perfectly with Caesar Manzoki.
Yunus Sentamu had a golden opportunity to double the Venoms advantage at the stroke of halftime but the forward failed to tap in a quality Milton Karisa delivery.
The Venoms continued to surge forward for the second goal and at the hour mark, Manzoki was well fed by second half substitute Paul Mucureezi but the Congolese forward headed wide.
In the final 16 minutes of the game, Orit doubled the visitors advantage on his return to Mbarara.
The home side found a late consolation deep in stoppage time through Ssegujja.
Vipers SC move to 13 points and stay second placed just three adrift of leaders KCCA FC.
Prepared and focused. 💪
