It was goals from Duncan Seninde, Steven Mukwala and Yayo Lutimba that inspired Vipers SC to a 3-0 victory over South Sudan side Kator FC in the CECAFA Kagame cup.

Vipers head coach Miguel Da Costa expressed his delight with the team’s performance.

He says,

“We had a great game, dominated possession, created several chances and I think 3-0 is a good result but we could have scored more in this game. I am happy because our first objective was to advance past the group stage, it’s done and we now turn our focus to the next phase.”

On the likely opponents in the quarterfinals Gor Mahia, Da Costa asserts that,

“Gor Mahia is like any other team and when you want to win the trophy, you don’t have to pick Gor Mahia, Azam or Simba but what the calendar gives you. So if it’s Gor Mahia we shall go to the match with the same attitude and believe to win the game to go through.

Vipers will know their quarterfinal opponents after Thursday’s games when Gor Mahia takes on AS Sport at National Stadium as Rayon Sport faces off with Lydia Ludic at Chamazi
