Uganda Premier league side SC Villa have named Sulait Makumbi as their new team manager ahead of the second round of the season.
Makumbi replaces Dan Mubiru who was relieved of his duties last week.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that Mubiru wanted the SC Villa administration to at least appoint him in another capacity at the club but his call was unsuccessful.
According to reliable sources, Mubiru’s departure brought excitement in the Villa camp.
The record Uganda Premier league champions also parted ways with deputy CEO Brenda Nambalirwa.
Makumbi has previously served in the same capacity at Nyamityobora FC.
At SC Villa he will work hand in hand with head coach Jackson Magera and Ibrahim Kirya to lead the 16 time Uganda Premier league champions back to glory days.
SC Villa finished the first round in 5th place with 24 points and five points adrift of leaders KCCA FC.
