FUFA Big League side NEC FC have completed the signing of defender Innocent Asiimwe on a one year contract.
Asiimwe is a former Soltilo Bright Stars defender who has been turning out for Tooro Province in the FUFA Drum tournament.
Asiimwe previously had a brief stint in Somalia with the country’s army side Horseed FC.
The lanky defender can ably play in the center back as well as in right back.
NEC FC have bolstered their squad with a number of new recruits including former SC Villa midfielder Ali Bayo Arshavin.
As reported earlier by this website, the club agreed terms with former Cranes striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma who currently plays for MYDA FC in the Eastern Regional League.
The Bugolobi based side will be aiming to direct promotion to the topflight league in their first attempt.
Coached by Michael Skills Lukyamuzi, NEC currently sit second on the table with 27 points, level with leaders Kitara FC who have a superior goal difference.
