Kataka FC edged Lugazi FC 2-1 at the Mbale Stadium in one of the eight Big League games played on Thursday.
Forwards David Zaake and Latif Ssenkubuge delivered goods for the home side while Ogweti Gerald pulled one back for the losing team.
Zaake broke the deadlock in 10 minutes while Ssenkubuge made it 2-0 in the 46th minute of the game.
Ogweti scored from a free kick in the 53rd minute and took his tally to 10 goals this season. Only Patrick Kaddu (15), Dennis Omedi (14) and Henry Kitegenyi (13) have scored more.
The slim victory put Kataka to the 6th place on 20 points as the scramble for favourable places on the table continues.
The Mbale side has won all their three games since returning to the Mbale Stadium.
Lugazi now sit 13th and in the relegation zone with 14 points from as many games.
Kataka will visit NEC FC at Bugolobi in the next game on Thursday while Lugazi host Calvary on the same day.
