Ugandan striker Favour Nambatya scored a brace in her first match for Rwandan side APAER Women Football Club as they beat Rayon Sports Women 3-2 in a friendly duel.
Nambatya recently joined APAER WFC on a short term contract from FUFA Women Super League champions She Corporate FC.
The lanky striker hit the ground going with a second half brace that inspired the 3-2 comeback victory.
Former She Corporate winger Imanizabayo Florence and Rosine Uwiringiyima Mbappe scored two goals for Rayon Sports in the first half.
Nambatya pulled one back through a spot kick in the 54th minute before leveling the scoreline in the 74th minute.
Cynthia Nyirarukundo won it late for APAER WFC in the 86th minute.
Nambatya is expected to make her competitive debut as APAER Women take on AS Kigali in the Peace Cup on Sunday 29th January.
APAER WFC is a vocational school owned by Adventist Parents’ Association for the Advancement of Children’s Education.
The Kigali based club currently sits in 5th place on the league table with 16 points while AS Kigali WFC lead with 33 points.
Nambatya is a former player at St. Mary’s Kitende, Kawempe Muslim, Muteesa I Royal University.
