Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC were the top earners in transfer of players’ business in 2022.

Four topflight Ugandan clubs shared Shs2.6bn during the transfer business last year. Uganda exported 50 and completed 32 incoming transfers.

According to the transfers data website, the Venoms sold 2021/22 Uganda Premier league top scorer Cesar Manzoki to Chinese side Dalian Pro at $200,000 (Shs737m).

The five time Ugandan champions also scooped from the transfers of forward Richard Basangwa, left back Aziz Kayondo and Bobosi Byaruhanga to Wadi Degla in Egypt, Salt Lake in the USA and Czech Republic MFK Vyskov.

Express also gained from the sale of striker Eric Kambale to Sudanese Giants El Merreikh with the Red Eagles earning Shs150m though the transfer marker reports show $91,000 (Shs336m) .

URA FC also reaped big in the sale of forward Steven Mukwala to Ghanaian Giants Asante Kotoko.

BUL FC also earned big in the transfer of Simon Peter Oketch to Ethiopian side Insurance while Gaddafi FC also reaped in Charles Musiige’s transfer to Ethiopian side Dire Dawa City. Arua Hill were the other Uganda Premier league side that gained from the transfer business as they sold Alfred Leku to Zambian side Zesco United.

The five Ugandan clubs managed to make a total of $700,000 (Shs2.6b) from player sales.
