Uganda Hippos played out to a goalless stalemate with South Sudan in group B of the ongoing AFCON U20 tournament in Egypt.

The Hippos were the dominant side but failed to breakdown a resilient and organized South Sudan defence.

Umar Lutalo and Travis Mutyaba both came close in the game that was played at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia.

Meanwhile, Congo Brazaville and Central African Republic also played out to a goalless draw in the other group B game.

The toss of a coin decided the top two positions in Group B between Congo and Uganda since both teams finished with 5 points and had a similar goal difference.
Uganda was picked first from the pot (won the toss) to finish top and will play Nigeria in the Quarterfinals.

South Sudan prevailed as one of the best two third placed teams after finishing with 4 points in the group.

Central Africa Republic bowed out of the competition after garnering just a single point in the three group games.

Uganda Hippos will face off with Nigeria on 3rd March at Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia for a place in the Semi-Finals.
