FUFA has reinstalled West Nile side Paidha Black Angels in the Stanbic Uganda Cup despite their defeat to Kampala Region side Kisugu United in the round of 32.
Kisugu United had prevailed to the last 16 following their 5-4 shootout win in the round of 32 after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Paidha Black Angels petitioned FUFA that Kisugu had used three ineligible players in the game that was played on Friday, 17th February at Bugolobi Coffee Ground.
Hamza Kasumba, Samuel Matovu and Mugisha Richard are the players Kisugu used but were not licensed by the FUFA competitions department.
“On the analysis of the above, the CDP was satisfied that the players Kasumba Hamza, Matovu Samuel and Mugisha Richard were ineligible to play in the match as they were not licensed to play for Kisugu United at the time of the match.” Read part of the ruling
Kisugu United also lose the game by forfeiture
“On the consequences, Kisugu United loses the match by forfeiture and is eliminated from the competition.
“Paidha Black Angels, the opponent in the match progresses to the next round of the stanbic Uganda Cup.” reads a ruling from FUFA Disciplinary panel.
Meanwhile, the round of 16 draw is expected to be held this week at FUFA House in Mengo.
