Substitute Tshisungu Kankonde was the heroes for Morley Byekwaso’s as they laboured to beat a resolute Mbarara city at Lugogo.

Kankonde came on as a second substitute when he replaced former Mbarara city striker Brian Ahebwa at the restart of the match after the break had come with the two sides tied on 1-1.

The match appeared to be a one sided affair with thee hosts making early attempts promptly paid off with Rogers Mato dancing his way past the Mbarara city defense to power home a brilliant opener in the second minute.

Numerous efforts followed but the hosts failed to build on Mbarara’s shaky start and were made to pay for it in the 38th minute as Henry Kitegenyi squeezed a ferocious effort on the near post of Derrick Ochan to level matters.
