KCCA FC chairman Martin Ssekajja has outlined the reasons behind the club’s recent deep of form.
Ssekajja however remains confident that head coach Morley Byekwaso will turn things around at the 13 time Uganda Premier league champions.
KCCA FC have drawn against Blacks Power, Maroons and UPDF FC in their previous league games and are currently second placed on the log.
Ssekajja asserts that deep in form of the club is due to various factors that are even beyond their control
“It is a big concern because we finished the first round on top of the table and we thought we would build on that,” unfortunately results have not turned out as expected.” Said Ssekajja as quoted by the New Vision
“Some people think its tactics (to blame) but there are quite a number of a number of (other) concerns.”
“We had a one-month layoff without active football while the team was still on form. We now have a back-to-back (kind of) fixture, that is played at least two to three days after, and the distance between the teams doesn’t help.”
Ssekajja on officiation and failure to convert chances
“In some matches, you feel the officiation does not meet the expectations. We don’t feel fair judgement in some of their refereeing decisions. Some of these referees are always the same people who never see the goals we score. They disallow authentic goals and we feel they are protected so we don’t want to complain much about the referees.”
“The other issue is failure to convert the chances we get. “I think the players need to take accountability for their performances.”
Ssekajja remains optimistic that they will bounce in the forthcoming fixtures
“We still have crucial games ahead of us and we hope to turn around.” He told the New Vision
Byekwaso’s side will next face off with Soltilo Bright Stars in the Quarterfinal of the Stanbic Uganda Cup before their league game against URA FC.
