Proline FC Director and Ex-Uganda Cranes player Mujib Kasule has criticized the summoning of youngster Allan Oyirwoth on the national team.
According to Kasule believes that it was a wrong decision to call Oyirwoth who is yet to feature at club level for Uganda’s 2026 World Cup Qualifying matches against Guinea and Somalia.
“Calling Oyirwroth to play for the national team without him playing for any premier league club is wrong for his future.” Said Kasule while appearing on NBS Sport before adding
“It is wrong most so on behalf of the boy. National team is not for development of players, players are developed at club level. So if you skip these stages, there’s a problem.
“So for me, whoever made the inclusion, just know it’s wrong for the boy and the team. There’s a better way to nurture boys.”
Oyirwoth made his Cranes debut in the narrow win against Somalia in the World Cup Qualifier on Tuesday at Stadium Du Municipal in Berkene, Morocco.
The Amus College School student was recently named as the Most Valuable Player in Prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup tournament.
