Vipers SC cruised to the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after thrashing Calvary FC 4-1 at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Friday.

Yunus Sentamu and Abubaker Lawal netted a brace each to send the two time competition winners into the last four.

Junior Andama scored a consolation for the visitors.

In the opening 30 minutes, the Venoms were in a comfortable 3-0 lead.

Sentamu opened the scoring with a well struck free kick and moments later he set up Lawal for the Venoms’ second goal.

Sentamu completed his brace with a left footed strike after being fed by Lawal.

The visitors cut the deficit at the stroke of halftime when Andama beat Fabien Mutombora with a sensational free kick strike.

Early in the second period, the hosts were awarded a penalty after a foul on their skipper Milton Karisa.

Lawal was entrusted with the responsibility and calmly completed his brace.

Vipers join Police FC who eliminated holders BUL FC on Wednesday in the Semifinals.

Meanwhile, action in the Stanbic Uganda Cup will resume tomorrow as Adjumani TC host Express FC in the other Quarterfinal.

On Sunday, 2019 competition runners up Soltilo Bright Stars will welcome 10 time winners KCCA FC at Kavumba Recreation grounds.
