The summoned Uganda Cranes players have started arriving in the camp ahead of the crucial final two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Congo Brazzaville.
Five foreign based players Geoffrey Wasswa who features for Ethiopian Coffee FC in Ethiopia, Bobosi Byaruhanga (Austin II, USA), Timothy Awany (FC Ashdod, Israel) Isima Watenga (Golden Arrows FC, South Africa) and Nafian Alionzi (Defence Forces FC, Ethiopia) have joined the Cranes Camp.
Allan Okello (Vipers SC, Hakim Kiwanuka (SC Villa), Ronald Ssekiganda (SC Villa), Gavin Kizito Mugweri (KCCA FC), Mutwalib Mugolofa (KCCA FC), Denis Omedi (Kitara FC), Jude Semugabi (Kitara FC), Saidi Mayanja (KCCA FC) are the local based players camping at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisasi with more expected to join the squad.
Meanwhile, the players in camp will have a Training session on Monday is at 4:00 pm, Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
Paul Put’s men will be seeking to seal a place in next year’s continental showpiece when they host South Africa at Mandela National Stadium on 15th November 2024 before visiting Congo four days later.
Uganda currently leads Group K with 10 points, two ahead of South Africa while Congo have four points. South Sudan are pointless.
