Striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored a goal in each half as UPDF FC beat fellow relegation strugglers Blacks Power 3-0 in Bombo.
Christopher Kawagu scored the other goal for the Brian Ssenyondo coached charges who moved seven above the drop zone.
Ahimbisibwe opened the scores in the 3rd minute when he capitalized on a long ball from his keeper Derrick Were which was not well dealt will by Blacks Power goalkeeper Emmanuel Odongkara.
Kawagu made it 2-0 in the 36th minute with a long range from the right wing which also caught Odongkara napping.
Hussein Mbalangu couldn’t entertain more of Odongkara’s poor goalkeeping and subsequently replaced him with Given Kenneth Lukyamuzi a few minutes later.
Two minutes into the second, Ahimbisibwe made it 3-0 with a cool finish after being set by Jibril Nsimbe within the area.
It would have been 4-0 but Rashid Faridi who replaced Ahimbisibwe in the closing stages, failed to tap the ball perfectly from another Nsimbe craft work with the keeper already beaten. He put the ball far wide.
