The group stage draw for the 2023 USSSA Football championship will be held on Wednesday, 3rd May at Copper Chimney Restaurant in Lugogo.
64 schools qualified for the competition from various districts across the country and will learn their opponents at the group stage on Tuesday.
This year the prestigious schools Championship which started in 1986 will this time be held at Nyakasura school in Fort Portal from 7th -20th May.
The last time Fort Portal hosted in 2009, Buddo SS prevailed to their first ever crown in the final that was played at St Leo’s Kyegobe. Buddo SS retained their Wakiso District title this cruising 2-1 past Kitende.
St.Mary’s Kitende are the reigning champions and will be seeking their 11th championship. They beat St. Andrews Kaggwa 2-0 in the final last year in Arua.
East African champions Kibuli SS and 11 time National champions are among the favourites.
Meanwhile, Mengo SS, Mityana SS and St.Kalembe SS are taking part in the competition for the first time in their history.
