Mbarara City secured a promotion back to the Uganda Premier League after beating neighbors Kaaro Karungi 2-0 in Ibanda in the penultimate round of the FUFA Big League.

Strikers Henry Kitegenyi and Jude Ssemugabi were on target to inspire the Ankole Lions to a much needed result.

Kitegenyi scored first in the 5th minute from the penalty mark after Seiri Arigumaho was brought down in the forbidden area.

Nvule Jamie Kisitu made a wonderful spadework to set up Ssemugabi who made it 2-0 in the 50th minute of the game.
