Police FC won the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup semi final against Adjumani Town Council 1-0 at Kavumba Recreation Ground.

Mid season signing Hassan Kikoyo was the scorer of the lone goal of the game as early as the 7th minute.

The penalty was awarded after veteran striker Herman Wasswa Nteza was fouled in the forbidden area.

Police could have walked into the second leg with a better goal margin but unfortunately Wasswa and Denis Kalanzi were not clinical enough from clear scoring chances.

Adjumani coach Geoffrey Akena is adamant his side will defy odds to overturn the result.

” Our target was a draw against Police which we haven’t achieved but the one goal margin is a fair result on our side. We can build from that and overturn the results at our home.”

Akena said via FUFA Media.

The second leg will be played on Friday 26th May at the Paridi Stadium in Adjumani.

Meanwhile both sides will shift focus to the FUFA Big League which climaxes this Thursday.
