Gomba appoint Felix Ssekabuza as head coach

Five time Masaza Cup champions Gomba Lions have appointed Felix Ssekabuza Kawooya as their head coach.

According to reliable sources, Ssekabuza has agreed terms with the record Masaza Cup winners.

He replaces Emuron Recoba who was at the helms during the previous edition.

Ssekabuza returns to Gomba where he won two Masaza Cup trophies in 2014 as Shafiq Bisaso’s assistant and in 2020 when he was head of technical.

During last edition together with Simon Peter Mugerwa they guided Busiro to their first ever Masaza Cup crown beating Buddu 2-1 in the final at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

Ssekabuza has also previously worked at Ssingo, Busujju and Kyaggwe.

He will be assisted by Davis Nnono who was also part of Busiro technical team last year. Nnono is also the head coach at St.Lawrence University.

Gomba are in Muganzirwa group alongside Busiro, Mawokota, Ssese, Mawogola and Kabula.

They have previously won the championship in
2004, 2009, 2014, 2017 and lately 2020.
