The management of reigning Masaza Cup Champions Busiro Ssaza team has appointed Ibrahim Kirya as the new head coach.
He replaces Simon Peter Mugerwa who joined two time winners Buddu. Mugerwa guided Busiro to their maiden Masaza Cup crown in 2022.
Kirya was in charge of Buddu during last year’s edition as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to his new home Busiro in the final that was held at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
The SC Villa assistant coach also served as Balangira Clan head coach during last year’s Bika Football Competitions.
During the 2020 and 2021 editions, Kirya served as Gomba Lions head coach. In 2020, he led Gomba to their fifth Masaza Cup triumph.
He has previously served at URA FC, SC Villa, Lweza FC, Wakiso Giants and lately Tooro United in the capacity of head coach.
Busiro’s technical team has Hakim Kasirye, Fred Wasajja and Hamza Ntambi.
Busiro are in Muganzirwa group alongside Kirya’s former home and five time competition winners Gomba, three time champions Mawokota, Ssese, Mawogola and Kabula.
