Stanbic Uganda Cup: Anukani scores from own half as Vipers romp in first leg

Vipers SC Shred Soltilo Bright Stars 4-0 in the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup played at the St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Saturday.

Bright Anukani (2 goals), Yunus Sentamu and Karim Watambala goals ensured that the Venoms earn a comprehensive win over the 2019 Finalists.

The win also keeps Vipers hopes for a Cup double alive.

Anukani gave Alex Isabirye coached side an early lead with a well converted penalty.

Sentamu doubled their advantage in the 16th minute with a nice finish after being fed by skipper Milton Karisa in the 16th minute.

Anukani completed his brace with a sensational long range strike from his own half.

Watambala completed the scoring in the 90th minute when he calmly converted from the spot after Cromwel Rwothomio had been brought down in the forbidden area.

The two sides will face off in the second leg on 30th May at Kavumba Recreation grounds.

The aggregate winner will prevail to this year’s final that will be held in Lira.
