Vipers have seen their title hopes dented after a 1-1 draw with BUL FC draw at Njeru Technical centre on Tuesday.

Abdul Karim Watambala scored a late penalty that keeps the Venoms slim chances of retaining the league title this season.

BUL had taken the lead through forward Samuel Ssekamatte’s 65th header off a Reagan Kalyowa perfect cross.

Vipers tactician Alex Isabirye’s return to BUL FC was a frustrating one as they needed a win to stay top heading in the final game on Saturday.

The disappointing draw sees the Venoms drop to second place won the Uganda Premier league table with 50 points, two adrift of leaders SC Villa who beat Blacks Power 1-0 to move to the summit.

On the final, Isabirye and his charges need to win against Busoga and pray Villa fails to register victory over URA FC at Wankulukuku.

Meanwhile, BUL FC remain winless since the resumption of the second round. They have now gone 13 games without a win in the league.
