2023 Masaza Cup: Ssingo retain last year’s technical staff

The management team of Ssingo has retained Simon “Dunga” Ddungu as head coach for the upcoming 2023 Buganda Masaza Cup tournament.

Ddungu last season led Ssingo to the Semifinal stage of the competition before they were eliminated by eventual winners Busiro 4-3 on aggregate.

This will be his second successive season at the two time Masaza Cup winners.

Previously Dungu has handled Gomba, Mawogola and Busiro in the prestigious competition.

Dungu is also the head coach at Buganda Region side Kiyinda Boys whom he guided to the promotional final and they will face Young Simba FC with the winner taking on the champions of the Kampala region league for a place in the Big League.

He is a Masaza Cup winner with Gomba following their 1-0 triumph over Ssingo during the 2017 edition.

Emmy Immanuel Kisakye and Regan Lule have also been retained as the assistant and goalkeeping coach.

Ssingo last won the competition in 2018 and are in Bulange Group alongside Bulemeezi, Butambala, Buvuma Bugerere and Busujju.

Busiro is the reigning champion, having beaten Buddu 21 in the 2022 finale at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
