The search for Katara FC’s next permanent head coach has taken a new twist, as reports have indicated that Wasswa Bbosa is now the leading candidate to take over.

The development comes after departure of Sam Ssimbwa who led the Hoima based side to the topflight division.

Ssimbwa joined Kitara on a short term employment contract replacing Mark Twinamastiko

This website understands that Bbosa is leading the race and fits Kitara’s targets for the 2023/24 Uganda Premier league season.

The newly promoted Uganda Premier league side are also considering Kefa Kisala.

Mbarara City are also courting Bbosa’s signature following the departure of Sadiq Sempigi.

Last week, this website reported that Bbosa is strongly contemplating throwing in the towel at Gaddafi FC due to lack of enough funding.

Bbosa has previously managed at Express FC guiding them to the 2020/21 league title and the CECAFA trophy. He also served at SC Villa and was in charge of Ndiga Clan as they clinched the 2022 Bika Bya Baganda football shield.

Kitara FC finished top of the FUFA Big League table in the just concluded campaign with 61points.
