Rwanda Premier league champions APR have opened up talks with Vipers over the signing of Cranes international Milton Karisa who looks certain to leave.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that the APR are keen on signing the Vipers’ captain this transfer window.
According to reliable sources, personal terms are not expected to be a problem and APR are confident of striking the deal soon.
Karisa is also keen to make the move to the home of the Rwanda Premier league champions, which would see him leave Kitende.
It should be noted that APR have spent the last 10 years without signing foreign players but changed their decision recently with an aim of yielding better results on the continent.
Last season, Karisa was a key pillar for Vipers as they became the fourth Ugandan side to complete a cup double.
He scored the all important goal that secured the Uganda Cup trophy against Police FC in the final that was played in Lira.
Karisa was appointed Vipers skipper at the start of the just concluded campaign replacing Halid Lwaliwa.
He returned to Vipers in January, 2020 following his departure at Moroccan outfit Moulodia D’oujda.
BUL FC and Jinja Municipal Council are the other sides that he has previously featured for.
Karisa is currently with the Uganda Cranes team preparing for the AFCON 2023 Qualification game against Algeria on Saturday.
