Semugabi to leave Mbarara City after five years

Striker Jude Semugabi will leave Mbarara City following the expiration of his employment contract.

Semugabi’s contract at Ankole Lions will expire at the end of this month

“Just a fortnight to the expirely of his contract well served,I wish the lions the very best in advance.” Semugabi briefly confirmed his departure at Mbarara

He joined the Mbarara based side from Kiboga Young at the start of the 2018/19 season on a three year employment contract.

Semugabi was instrumental for Ssingo during their 2018 Airtel Masaza Cup triumph where he emerged as the top scorer with 8 goals.

He was also integral in Kiboga Young’s rise from the third tier to the FUFA Big league during the 2017/18 season, scoring 17 times in regular season and 3 goals in the playoffs.

At the start of last season, Semugabi was named new Mbarara City captain following the departure of Solomon Okwalinga. He was instrumental for the club as they returned to the Uganda Premier league.
