Former Express assistant coach to replace Ssenyondo at UPDF FC

UPDF FC are set to name Pius Ngabo has their new head coach ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Ngabo will replace Brian Ssenyondo who joined newly promoted Kitara FC.

The move will also see Ngabo return to the army side where he previously served as Kefa Kisala’s assistant coach.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that Ngabo is expected to sign a two year employment contract at UPDF FC.

Ngabo has been working as John Ayala Luyinda’s assistant coach at Wakiso Giants.

He has also worked with Express, led St Andrews Gombe to USSSA final before suffering defeat to St.Mary’s Kitende in 2022 and served as Abdullah Mubiru’s assistant at Police FC.

Ngabo was also head coach at International University of East Africa (IUEA) in the University Football league.

The army side finished the 2022/2023 campaign 13th with 27 points in 28 matches.
