SC Villa have on Monday kick started their pre-season at East High in Ntinda ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Defender Gift Fred also took part of Dusan Stojanovic’s first training session as SC Villa head coach.

Charles Bbaale who was in fine form last season did not take part in the training session at East High on Monday.

The duo is expected to renew their employment contracts at the 16 time Uganda Premier league champions as earlier reported by this website despite ongoing speculation regarding their future.

Stojanovic is expected to trim off some of the players who were part of last season’s squad.

The Serbian tactician will also assess some players who are on SC Villa radar on Wednesday as he aims to build a competitive team for next season.

On Monday, majority of last season’s squad took part in the session at Ntinda.

SC Villa finished third last season with 52 points they garnered in 28 games as they surrendered the title to Vipers on the final day.
