FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo is no longer a CAF Executive Committee member after losing the position to Sudan’s Mutasim Jaafar Sirelkhatim in an elective assembly held in Ivory Coast.

Mutasim got 34 votes compared to Magogo’s 20 votes and subsequently became the new CECAFA representative on the CAF Executive Committee for the next four years.

It should be noted that Magogo became the first Ugandan to be elected as a CAF Excom member in 2019 after beating Tanzania’s Leodgar Tenga with 33-19 votes.

After losing the election, Magogo used his Twitter handle to concede defeat.

” Allah has been good to me to be the first and only Ugandan with the opportunity to serve as CAF Executive Member. I concede election losing 34/20 to Sudan FA President Dr. Mutasim and I duly congratulate him.” He tweeted.

” I will continue to serve football at Kampala Queens, FUFA, CAF and FIFA. I thank the colleague 20 FA Presidents who voted for me.”

It should also be remembered Mutasim is also a former CECAFA President who beat Uganda’s Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa in a presidential race in 2015.
