Ugandan striker Charles Bbaale has officially been unveiled by Rwanda Premier League side Rayon Sports on a two year contract.
As earlier reported by this website, Bbaale joins Rayon Sports on a free transfer after his contract with SC Villa expired at the end of last season.
Efforts to have a renewal were futile after both parties failed to reach a compromise.
Bbaale played a starring role for the Jogoos with 12 goals but eventually fell short of winning the league title on the last day of the season.
He joins the Rwandan giants as a direct replacement for Cameroonian striker Willy Esomba Onana who recently joined Tanzania’s Simba SC.
Onana was Rwanda Premier League top scorer last season with 16 goals.
Bbaale is now the second Ugandan player to sign for Rayon Sports after goalkeeper Simon Tamale who switched from Maroons FC on a one year deal.
The club is working around the clock to sign winger Joackiam Ojera who played for them on five month loan from URA FC.
Ojera is still contracted with URA FC amidst interests from Rayon Sports and rivals APR FC.
The Gikundiros will be representing Rwanda in the CAF Confederation Cup after beating APR in last season’s Peace Cup final.
